When Simone Biles withdrew from several events in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics people had an array of reactions. Some completely supported her choice to take care of her mental health and others didn’t understand. 1 in 5 people suffer from mental health-related issues. Converse has always been a brand that enforces individuality and community. Step Into My World is a campaign that humanizes these conditions not as issues but as new perspectives of living life. By partnering with Nami.org the campaign opens an avenue of help for anyone who needs it and provides educational materials for people to get informed. During the Tokyo Olympics it was Simone Biles, but any other day it could be a friend, a neighbor, or a family member.
