Ayiti Se Nou

For my “Ideas First” course I had to design my family reunion. My mother is Haitian and I have learned more about my haitian roots through my family. I interviewed family members from Canada, England, and Haiti to understand what connects the Labrousse tribe.

Political situations pushed our family members to pick up their belongings and leave their beloved Haiti. Our only choice was to cherish Haiti by becoming it. Wherever we were in the world.

“Ayti se nou” translates to “Haiti is us”. The family reunion was designed to celebrate our sacrifices and our union with culture, music, food, and philanthropy.
